IC INFORMATIONCharacter Name: Felix Hugo Fraldarius
Canon: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Canon Point: Few Months post Azure Moon
Age: 23
Background: Wiki Link Arrival Scenario: Free Cities
Suitability: Felix comes from a canon that is in the middle of a war between three factions, so this is something that he is used to which will make engaging in this world easier to handle. However, he will not be joining up with the military just yet. While he is no stranger to war and will fiercely fight for a cause he believes in, this war is not his war and it will take a lot of convincing to get him to throw his support behind the free cities. I am looking to throw him in with some mercenaries because that's something he does in his world and wouldn't be out of the realm of normal for him. He is not interested in political intrigue, however, his friends are here and they are, which means he will probably end up mixed up in things anyway, just to keep an eye on them and keep them safe. Felix might come off standoffish, prickly, and cold, but he loves his friends and he will fight to protect them always (but he will never admit that).
Powers: Felix has no supernatural abilities. However, he has been training almost his entire life to become a knight. He has a range of experience with weapons, hand-to-hand combat, and battle strategy and tactics. Once he was old enough he chose the sword as his main weapon and made it his mission to become the best swordsman in Fodlan. His agility, speed, and strength skills are generally all maxed out which makes him agile, and quick, and his attacks are swift, strong, and often accurate making him a deadly opponent on the battlefield. Furthermore, Felix possesses the Major Crest of Fraldarius, an inheritance from his bloodline. This crest lets him wield the Aegis Sheild and it makes his attacks stronger and more deadly, but only some of the time, and it's not something that he can control.
PERSONALITY QUESTIONSDescribe an important event in your character's life and how it impacted them. When Felix is 13 his older brother, and the person he looks up to and wants to emulate more than anything, is killed protecting Dimitri in the Tragedy of Duscar. Felix was devastated, and this was worsened when his father states that Glenn died in glorious service to the kingdom as he was a knight, and that's what they are supposed to do. Felix views his death as needless and this causes a rift between him and his father. Felix sees what his brother's death has done to those he loves and it changes him. Prior to this Felix was softer, and as Sylvain calls him a bit of a crybaby growing up. After Glen's death, he hardens himself, taking on a different personality, almost more like this brother, as Dimitri points out. He throws himself even harder into training. He always vowed he would one day be better than Glen at swordplay, but now he will never get to. He says that training feels like fighting a corpse, but he keeps going, trying to hit a now unreachable goal. He values hard work above all else and he trains hard to keep his friends safe, to keep them from having to take a blow for him. He doesn't want them dying like Glen did. Because of this, he feels like he needs to work harder than anyone else and every moment he can get is dedicated to training, no longer the easy-going carefree boy he was before his brother died.
Does your character have a moral code or other set of standards they try to live by? Felix's set of standards that he lives by is hard work. He works harder than anyone at the academy at training, often found on the training grounds with a sword in hand. He has goals to become the best swordsman in all of Fodlan and that won't happen if he isn't training hard. He won't be able to protect those he loves if he doesn't work hard. This is why he gives Sylvain a hard time for not training more and slacking off, he knows Sylvain has the ability to be better than he pretends to be and it drives Felix crazy that he won't work up to his potential. A lot of his standards and morale code are also the things he admires most in people.
What quality or qualities do they admire most? Felix admires the same qualities he set as his standards to live by. He admires hard work, fighting prowess, a tactical brain, strength, and loyalty. Anyone who works hard to achieve their goals, who shows strength, both physical and mental, and loyalty, this can be seen in his relationship with Byleth, the only one who is ever able to beat in him a fight. Instead of being angry, he admires her and asks her to teach him so that he can learn more and better himself. Even though he gives her a hard time he admires the fact that Byleth never gives up on Dimitri- something he couldn't do. This is also the reason he is friends with Ingrid, another person who works hard for what they want. She wants to be a knight despite knowing she is the heir to her family and will have to return home, she still presses forward to become the best and Felix is happy to help her get there.
Do they have a part of themselves they dislike? Felix didn't like the part of himself that was "too sensitive", the part that made him a "crybaby" when he was younger. It's the reason he is so hard and angry now, after Glen's death he tried to burn that part of himself out. Even though it was a good thing, he didn't see it that way. He sees it as being weak and he can't be weak. Not if he was going to prevent anyone else he loved from dying on the battlefield.
What is their sign, and why? The Magician makes the most sense. People with this sign are dedicated to the mastery of their craft and that is Felix to a T. He is devoted to training and becoming the best swordsman in Fodlan, even if it means making sacrifices. And he is the best of the best, not many can go up against Felix, and probably only Byleth can beat him in a fight.
